Airbnb Now Does Guests’ Laundry. It Won’t Wash Your Sheets.

Airbnb’s fall update added a laundry service for guests: pickup and delivery booked in the app, run by the laundry company Rinse, in select US cities. It is meant for travelers’ own clothes on longer trips. The sheets and towels in your rental are still yours to turn, and from November 20 you can no longer require a guest to start a load of them either.

What Airbnb’s laundry service is

On September 30, 2026, Airbnb announced its fall update, which added services guests can book alongside a stay. Laundry is one of them. Guests schedule a pickup and a delivery so they can pack less, especially on longer trips. Airbnb says its guests get free pickup, delivery and next-day rush service, and that it is available in select US cities, in partnership with Rinse.

Airbnb has not published the list of cities, and it says the services are rolling out through later this year and that their timing and geographic reach can change. The service is booked and paid for by the guest. Hosts do not set it up and are not charged for it.

Does Airbnb’s laundry service wash the rental’s sheets and towels? No

The service is for what the guest packed. Airbnb pitches it as a way to travel with fewer clothes, not as a linen service for hosts, and nothing in the announcement changes who washes the bedding, bath towels and pool towels that belong to the property. That is still the turnover.

The timing makes the point sharper. From November 20, 2026, Airbnb’s new house rules policy stops hosts requiring guests to strip beds or start laundry before they leave. So the rental’s linen is now entirely the host’s side of the stay, from the stripped bed to the made one.

What it changes for hosts

Very little on the turnover itself, and a few things worth knowing:

Longer stays are what Airbnb is building for. A guest staying a week or more is the one most likely to use the service, and the one whose sheets and towels most need changing partway through. A mid-stay refresh covers the property’s side
Keep your listing accurate on laundry. If there is a washer and dryer, say so; if guests are welcome to use it, say that too. The new service does not replace the amenity in search
Your linen count does not change. The rental still needs enough sets to turn back-to-back stays, whatever guests do with their own clothes. How par levels work
If your cleaner relied on guests stripping beds or running a load at checkout, that ends for bookings made from November 20. Ask, in writing, whether stripping and laundry are in scope and price

Is Airbnb’s laundry service available in Charleston?

Airbnb has not said. The announcement names select US cities without listing them, so the reliable check is the guest side of the app for a stay in your area. Either way, it changes nothing for the rental’s own linen.

Laundry for the rental itself

Fluffy’s vacation rental laundry washes, presses and folds the property’s linen at our own North Charleston facility and delivers it with our own team. If you would rather not own linen at all, the Linen Subscription starts from $35 per guest turn.

Questions about Airbnb’s laundry service

Does Airbnb offer a laundry service?

Yes. Since its fall 2026 update, Airbnb lets guests book laundry pickup and delivery in the app, in partnership with Rinse, in select US cities. Airbnb says guests get free pickup, delivery and next-day rush service.

Who is Airbnb’s laundry partner?

Rinse, a laundry pickup and delivery company. Airbnb announced the partnership on September 30, 2026.

Will Airbnb’s laundry service wash my rental’s sheets and towels?

No. It is a guest service for travelers’ own clothes. The property’s bedding and towels are still part of the host’s turnover.

Which cities have Airbnb’s laundry service?

Airbnb says select US cities and has not published a list. It says the services roll out through later in 2026 and that their reach can change, so check the app for your area.

Can I still ask guests to start a load of laundry at checkout?

Not as a requirement for reservations booked from November 20, 2026. Airbnb’s house rules policy stops hosts requiring guests to strip beds or do laundry; gathering used towels remains a reasonable request.
